Russia WTO entry to contribute to world economy - Japan FM

It stresses that that Tokyo has consistently supported Russia’s accession to the WTO

TOKYO, August 22 (Itar-Tass) — The Japanese government believes that Russia’s accession to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) will contribute to the development of the global economy and strengthening of the bilateral business relations, Japanese Foreign Minister Koichiro Gemba said in a statement received by Itar-Tass on Wednesday.

It stresses that that Tokyo has consistently supported Russia’s accession to the WTO.

“Japan expects that this will strengthen the multilateral trading system and contribute to the further development of the global economy,” the document says. “Japan also hopes that its economic relations with Russia will get further development against the background of the improvement of Russia’s trade and investment climate.”
