MOSCOW, August 21 (Itar-Tass) —— The Investigation Committee of Russia charged Gilani Saipov, the suspected accomplice in the assassination in Moscow of Alimsoltan Alkhamatov, the head of Dagestan’s Khasavyurt district. Chief of the Investigation Committee Vladimir Markin said Saipov was detained as a result of the search in Dagestan from August 14-17.
The other suspect, Zaurbek Magomedov, opened fire resisting detention and was liquidated, Marking said.
Alimsoltan Alkhamatov, 45, was shot dead in the yard of a house in south west Moscow on the evening of September 27, 2009.
