MOSCOW, August 21 (Itar-Tass) — The programme of preparation of energy systems for the winter and all maintenance works should be done in time, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin said during a meeting with CEO of the Federal Grid Company of Unified Energy System /FGC UES/ Oleg Budargin on Tuesday.
“The work continues, and it follows the plan and the schedule,” Budargin told Putin. “This year, we have made a decision to sign and adopt passports of readiness not by November 15, like we used to do, but by October 15 throughout the country, and all companies have agreed with the decision.”
He added that the programme of preparations for the winter season and all repairing works are 97 percent accomplished.
Budargin said that jointly with regional grid companies, they had formed an emergency reserve.
“We have 1,200 emergency mobile teams across the country,” he said. “We have set the task to react to every emergency situation within two hours and to start fixing disorders any time of day or night,” Budargin said.
He also reported certain problems with high level of consumption, which affects the reliability of the grids. Companies, facing problems of the kind are Kubanenergo, Tyumenenergo, the grid company of the North Caucasus, Lenenergo.
At the same time, Budargin said that over the past three years, the FGC lowered the number of emergency situations during the winter periods by 49 percent.
