VLADIVOSTOK, August 21 (Itar-Tass) — Control over migrants in Russia’s Primorsky Territory in the run-up to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Vladivostok will be tightened, the press service of the region’s administration told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.
Over the past several days thirteen foreign workers were deported from Vladivostok, while another 31 migrants were banned from entry to Russia’s territory. At the ferry service that links Vladivostok and Russky Island police inspected 48 citizens of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey. Six protocols of administrative violations, including four on deportation were filled in.
According to the region’s migration service, 2,911 migrant workers remain in Vladivostok to complete the preparation for the APEC summit.
The APEC summit will take place on the territory of the Far Eastern Federal University campus on Russky Island in the first half of September. First guests begin to arrive in Vladivostok – these are groups of specialists from the Philippines and South Korea.
