MOSCOW, August 20 (Itar-Tass) —— A Syrian delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Qadri Jamil us arriving gin Moscow for talks with Russia.
Meetings and talks at the Russian Foreign Ministry are scheduled for August 21.
“Syrian Deputy Prime Minister Qadri Jamil and Minister for National Reconciliation Ali Haidar will discuss at the talks in Moscow ways to resolve the continued crisis in the country,” a source in Damascus told Itar-Tass.
The Syrian government delegation led by Jamil had talks with Russian diplomats in early August. The Syrian deputy prime minister said back then that Russia had promised to consider Damascus’ request for a loan. The sides also agreed on energy supplies to Syria.
“The details will be discussed in the coming weeks,” Jamil said. “The most important task now is to break the blockade around Syria. We need to solve economic questions,” he said.
