KHABAROVSK, August 20 (Itar-Tass) — Two of the four wildfires raging across Yakutia and the Khabarovsk Territory in Russia’s Far East were liquidated, the region’s forestry department told Itar-Tass on Monday.

Two wildfires stretching over 85 hectares continue to burn in the Khabarovsk Territory. Twenty-eight people and six vehicles are engaged in the firefighting operation.

On Sunday firefighters put out wildfires spreading across 300 hectares in Yakutia.

According to the forestry service, since the start of the fire hazard season the Khabarovsk Territory and Yakutia, where fires damaged 316,000 hectares and 139,000 hectares respectively, were most heavily affected.
