MOSCOW, August 19 (Itar-Tass) — Russia’s Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on attack on parishioners in a mosque in Khasavyurt, Dagestan.
On Saturday, at 20:55 Moscow time, two unidentified persons rushed into the mosque in Gamidov Street after the afternoon prayer and started firing from guns at the parishioners who remained there. Eight people got wounded.
The attackers disappeared, having left by the building a self-made explosive device – a 50-liter gas cylinder stuck with an explosive packed in a sack. Staff of Russia’s Federal Security Service defused the device on the spot.
The investigation is in process.
