ALMATY, August 17 (Itar-Tass) — Nine criminals were destroyed in the Tan country-cottage area during a counter-terrorist special operation, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the republic reported.
According to its information, persons suspected of participating in the terrorist activity were established in one of the Tan cottages of the Bolsheamatinsky rural district of the Karasaisky area of the Almaty region. “When trying to detain them, the criminals offered armed resistance - one of the commandos got an injury, five criminals were killed. Criminal proceedings were instituted. The site of the incident is being examined now. There are no victims among the population,” a representative of the Prosecutor General’s Office specified.
On Thursday, the Interior Ministry applied to residents of the Almaty region with a request to give investigators any information connected with mass murders on the territory of the Ile-Alatau park a week ago.
While examining the zone of the operation, "another four dead bodies were found by the present moment." As the Prosecutor General's Office reported on Friday, the identification of all nine dead criminals is being conducted now, so the number of terrorists destroyed in the country-cottage area near Almaty during a special counter-terrorist operation reached nine.
