MINSK, August 15 (Itar-Tass) — Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko considered the year 2012 the most fruitful one for developing relations with Russia, including for visits.

“It would be not bad to discuss our relations. There is no extraordinary, luckily. There are no questions in any field,” Lukashenko said during the meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Wednesday.

According to the president, “our economic relations develop not bad.” He noted “the considerable growth” in trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

Contacts between the foreign ministries can be considered “a model”, Lukashenko stressed. “Pray God we have the same relationship with other countries,” he added.

Lukashenko revealed the commonness of positions on international issues. “We support your statement on Syria. We are committed to the same view,” Lukashenko told Lavrov.
