MAKHACHKALA, August 14 (Itar-Tass) — Two policemen and a militant were killed in a gunfire exchange in Khasavyurt, Dagestan.

“The assailants driving a Lada Priora opened fire at the vehicle of two traffic police officers in Khasavyurt at about 19:45 Moscow time,” a representative of the Dagestani department of the Russian Investigation Committee told Itar-Tass. “One officer died instantly, and the other died on the ambulance.”

The dead militant is being identified. Forensic experts and detectives are working on the crime scene.
