NALCHIK, August 12 (Itar-Tass) – The federal budget will assign approximately 100 billion rubles in 2013 for raising salaries of public-sector employees in regions, Russian Labor and Social Security Minister Maxim Topolin said at a conference in Nalchik on Saturday.
“Verification is constant in the drafting of federal and regional budgets. We can already say that approximately 100 billion rubles would be assigned to support regions,” he said. He recalled that the president had ordered increasing the average monthly salary of public-sector employees in Russia to 27,000 rubles by 2018 (the current exchange rate is 31.89 rubles to the dollar).
Funds for higher salaries will come not only from the federal budget, Topilin said. “It is necessary to seek local sources, as well. First and foremost, the money will be assigned to efficient enterprises with the best performance indicators. The salary growth will be linked with the efficiency of public-sector enterprises,” he said.
