Russian President has offered condolences to his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

MOSCOW, August 12 (Itar-Tass) —Russian President Vladimir Putin has offered condolences to his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad over multiple fatalities as a result of a series of devastating quakes that hit northwestern Iran on Saturday, the Kremlin press service said on Sunday.

“Offering sincere condolences to all people of Iran the Russian president expressed readiness to provide necessary support and aid,” the press service told Itar-Tass.

According to the Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA), the death toll increased to 300, another 2,000 people were injured.
