RF tourist from St Pete drowns in Sri Lanka

The couple arrived in Sri Lanka from St Petersburg

NEW DELHI, August 11 (Itar-Tass) — A Russian tourist, who is not named on the request of his family, drowned at Iduruwa, 70 kilometres of the capital of Sri Lanka, on Friday evening, a wife of the dead Russian tourist told Itar-Tass on Saturday.

“The waves were intense and I was being dragged by the current. The husband tried to help me. I could run ashore and I asked for rescuers,” she said.

But rescuers could not save the Russian tourist, who is 32-year-old.

The couple arrived in Sri Lanka from St Petersburg.
