MOSCOW, August 11 (Itar-Tass) —— A Moscow police officer, presumably drunk, driving his own car, has run down a woman, who died on site. The incident occurred in Borisovskiye Prudy street at 21:40 on Friday.

“The criminal police operative of the Danilovsky department of the Interior Ministry, driving his Audi car while off duty, ran down a woman outside a zebra crossing. The woman died instantly. According to preliminary findings, the police officer was drunk,” the press-service of the Moscow police force said.

An internal investigation is in progress. The officer will most probably be dismissed and the case handed over to the Investigative Committee.

The officer’s superiors will be reprimanded.
