MOSCOW, August 10 (Itar-Tass) — The Moscow police have searched the office of the REGNUM news agency by request of Latvian colleagues, the city police department told Itar-Tass on Friday.
“The investigative department of the Moscow southeastern administrative district police received a writ from the Latvian police via the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office. Investigative procedures were held at the office of the REGNUM news agency, including one questioning and confiscation of copies of identification documents of two citizens,” the police said.
The investigative procedures were held in full, and a report would be made to the Prosecutor General’s Office, it said.
Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics declared Modest Kolerov and Igor Pavlovsky unwelcome elements in Latvia. “The decision was based on information provided by a Latvian competent agency in confirmation of the concealed activity of Modest Kolerov and Igor Pavlovsky against Latvian interests, in particular, against its territorial integrity and economic security,” the ministry said.
Kolerov is a former member of the Russian Presidential Administration, who became the President of the Russian REGNUM Publishing House on May 16, 2012. Pavlovsky is a deputy chief editor of the news agency.
