United Russia should provide continuity, Medvedev said

The prime minister noted that it is very important to work with the personnel reserve and potentially new officials

GORKI, August 10 (Itar-Tass) — Russian Prime Minister and leader of the United Russia Party Dmitry Medvedev believes that United Russia should provide continuity.

“The ruling party should provide continuity, because no political structure can just dismiss some people and appoint new people, it cannot be like that,” he noted at a meeting with candidates for head of the United Russia Central Executive Committee. Dmitry Travkin was elected at the foresaid post.

The prime minister noted that it is very important to work with the personnel reserve and potentially new officials. He gave as an example the situation, when someone from participants of the meeting is promoted to Moscow, at the same time he should leave an active, efficiently and intelligently working person instead of him.

Medvedev also noted that United Russia and all other Russian political parties are not “a machine for voting.” “The American construction is not quite suitable for us,” he explained. The premier believes that political parties in Russia should work non-stop.
