She claimed 30,000 roubles in moral damages

MOSCOW, August 9 (Itar-Tass) — Irina Rusankina from Novosibirsk has sued the Pussy Riot punk band, claiming 30,000 roubles in moral damages. On Thursday her lawsuit was turned over to Moscow Kuntsevsky district court, the court spokeswoman, Tatyana Danshova, told Itar-Tass.

The plaintiff said the punk group deeply hurt her feelings and made her suffer, which infringed on the rights and freedoms of a citizen guaranteed by the international acts, the Russian Constitution and the Federal law.

A televised footage of the Pussy Riot act cause her deep moral sufferings, the plaintiff said. "Breaching church canons was of detriment to the sacred values of Christian faith and an encroachment on the sacraments of the church, which deeply hurt my feelings and my senses", the plaintiff said.

In 2003 Irina Rusankina attempted to run for the post a regional governor of the Novosibirsk region, but during the election she was not put on the ballot.
