MOSCOW, August 7 (Itar-Tass) —— For the first time representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross will attend the strategic command and staff war games Caucasus, Deputy Chief of the Russian General Staff Col. Gen. Alexander Postnikov told reporters on Tuesday.

“For the first time representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross will attend the war games Caucasus-2012 due in September. Humanitarian aid issues to those districts, where conflict situations had emerged, will be drilled,” he said.

Speaking on the combat readiness of Russian servicemen with the participation of the armed forces of other countries, Postnikov noted that “the war games Cooperation-2012 will be held in Armenia in September.” “According to the level of missions they have nothing in common with the command and staff war games Caucasus. The main task of the war games is to train the commanders to control the groups of troops with due account of the fulfilment of the anti-terrorism missions and the allied commitments,” the general noted.
