Medvedev goes underground at Siberian coalmine

He met with coalminers at the region’s oldest mine Komsomolets

LENINSK-KUZNETSKY, August 6 (Itar-Tass) —— Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev went underground at the Listvyazhnaya coalmine on Monday, August 6.

He came to Leninsk-Kuznetsky in a special train as part of a railway tour of Siberia. Medvedev met with coalminers at the region’s oldest mine Komsomolets.

After that, accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich, Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov, Energy Minister Alexander Novak, and Kemerogo Regional Governor Aman Tuleyev took a trip to the Listvyazhnaya coalmine. They were briefed before going down, put on special overalls and off they went. It took about 20 minutes to go from the surface to the mine face.
