TOMSK, August 6 (Itar-Tass) —— The forest fire area has been brought down by more than 5,500 hectares in Siberia, the press service of the forestry department in the Siberian Federal District told Itar-Tass on Monday.
“Some 81 forest fires are raging on more than 12,300 hectares in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Tomsk Region and Tuva,” the press service said.
The forest fire area was reduced 1.8 times in the Tomsk Region. “According to urgent reports, 27 forest fires are burning on about 5,000 hectares in the region. For the past day nine forest fires were put out on 1,035 hectares, including four big fires on 877 hectares in Asinovsky, Kargasok, Krivosheino and Pervomaiskoye districts,” the press service said.
The forest fire situation is stabilizing in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. “Some 48 forest fires are raging on 5,618 hectares in the territory. For the past day nine forest fires were extinguished on 443 hectares. Some 13 fires were localized on 1,451 hectares,” the press service reported.
Six forest fires are burning on 1,867 hectares in the Republic of Tuva, almost all of them were localized as well.
“There are no fire threats to settlements and economic facilities in Siberia,” the press service reported.
So, a stable decline in the number of fires and the fire area remains in the region.
