Health ministry considers airlifting Russians injured in Crimea

A Russian woman with a child is in an intensive care unit in a grave condition

MOSCOW, August 5 (Itar-Tass) — According to the Russian Health Ministry, the condition of two Russian nationals injured as a result of a pleasure boat’s collision with a steamship off Sudak, Crimea, in the Black Sea on Saturday, remains grave, ministry spokesman Oleg Salagai told Tass on Sunday.

“Specialists from the Russian Health Ministry remain in constant touch with Ukrainian colleagues, and the possibility of airlifting them to Russia is considered,” the spokesman said.

One person died and 12 were injured in the head-on collision. A Ukrainian woman who was in the boat at the time of the accident died, Ruslan Danilishin, head of Sudak’s civil defence department, said.

A Russian woman with a child is in an intensive care unit in a grave condition. Another four people – two Russians, one Belarusian and one Ukrainian – were rushed to the city hospital in condition of medium gravity.

The investigation is underway.
