KRASNOYARSK, August 5 (Itar-Tass) — Five people were injured when a hand grenade exploded in the yard of an apartment house in the city of Krasnoyarsk, the press service of the Interior Ministry’s regional department told Tass on Sunday.

According to police, two groups of men quarreled late on Saturday in the yard of a multi-storey apartment building in Metallurgov Avenue. “Three men in a drunken state were drinking near the entrance to the house. They behaved aggressively and violated public order,” they said.

“A group of five people passing by gave them a rebuke. The groups stroke up the war of words, during which a young man hit one of the drunken men. After that the drunken group left the yard,” the sources said.

However, they returned some time later and threw a grenade into their offenders. Four men and a 45-year-old woman received fragmentation wounds in the blast. Besides, a blast wave smashed five windows of the residential building and damaged two vehicles. The perpetrators vanished from the site.

The injured people received medical assistance at the site. A fragment of the grenade was found at the site and sent for an expertise. “Police have already identified the abusers,” the sources said. Criminal proceedings have been instituted under Article 105 of the Russian Criminal Code (Attempt on Somebody’s Life).
