LONDON, August 5 (Itar-Tass) —— Russian Valery Borchin has left the hospital where he was taken after he lost consciousness in the Olympic 20km race walk.

After the treatment, Valery regained consciousness and could eat. According to the preliminary information, his disposition was caused by anoxaemia, a source in the Russian team said.

The athlete feels well and returns to the Olympic village, the source added.

Several kilometres short of the finish, Borchin fell unconscious. Medics ran to him immediately and rendered first aid.

The Russian walker was in the leading group and competed for a medal.
