MOSCOW, August 3 (Itar-Tass) —— Syria has not decided how much it wishes to borrow from Russia, but a decision will be made within weeks, Syrian Vice-Premier for Economic Affairs Qadri Jamil said in Moscow on Friday.

“We have not set the loan framework. But we know what to discuss in the near future. That is the question of several weeks. It is the most important to break through the Syrian blockade. We have economic problems to solve,” he said.

Damascus has asked Moscow for some hard currency, and Russia promises to consider this request, Syrian Finance Minister Muhammad al-Julaylati told the press conference.

“We ask for some hard currency. Russia promised to consider the request,” he said. “That would help Syria to recover from the crisis.”

Moscow and Damascus have agreed to crude supplies to Syria, Syrian Oil Minister Said Ma'za Hanidi told a Friday press conference in Moscow.

“We reached an agreement today. We also discussed the delivery mechanism,” he said.

That was one of the most important questions discussed in Moscow on Friday, the minister said. “That’s a key problem requiring solution in the Syrian crisis,” he noted.
