According to the conclusions of the experts, the books and magazines published by Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami

CHELYABINSK, August 1 (Itar-Tass) —— Agents of the Federal Security Service department in the Chelyabinsk Region detained five active members of the regional branch of the terrorist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami, the press service of the FSB department said on Wednesday.

Being well aware that the activities of this terrorist organization are banned in Russia and several other countries, members of the terrorist organization that lived in the Chelyabinsk Region have created the network of conspired cells all the same. Confronting the norms and customs of the traditional Islam in a secular state, false ideologists were dreaming about the toppling of the non-Islamic governments and establishing the supremacy of a theocratic unitary state – World Caliphate, which existed in their fantasies. They were recruiting new supporters and incited them to engage in organized anti-constitutional activities to provide conditions for a forcible seizure of power and the changing of the constitutional system in the Russian Federation.

The detectives found that from 2009 to 2011 the terrorist ideologues were “brainwashing” skilfully people without stable convictions at weekly religious lessons. Not being authoritative specialists in the field of religious knowledge, fanatical ideologists of the underground terrorist cell were cultivating a stable moral dependence from the ideas of the international terrorist organisation among some Muslims. The extremists were taking monthly membership fees and spent them for the support to the previously convicted members of the Chelyabinsk cell.

According to the conclusions of the experts, the books and magazines published by Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami, which were used by members of the illegal terrorist group, contain the extremist information, which instigate a person to participate in extremist activities, give negative assessments and voice negative positions against modern countries, their constitutional system and the borders and are seeking to overthrow the constitutional system by force and to violate Russia’s territorial integrity.

Under the criminal materials all five detainees were charged under an article of the Russian Criminal Code for a forcible coup or a forcible staying in power that envisages a term from 12 to 20 years in prison. The court ruled to put the accused for two months in custody.
