Medvedev pleased with opening ceremony of London Olympic Games

At the same time, the Russian prime minister stressed that the 2012 Sochi Winter Olympic Games would be opened differently

LONDON, July 28 (Itar-Tass) — Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said he was pleased with the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games.

In an interview with The Times on Saturday, Medvedev said the organisers of the ceremony had succeeded in creating an absolutely British atmosphere.

At the same time, the Russian prime minister stressed that the 2012 Sochi Winter Olympic Games would be opened differently. “I liked the ceremony because this was a grandiose and expensive show, which was rather prepared,” he added.

According to Medvedev, the opening ceremony should not be long because the opening ceremony in London lasted for more than three hours.

He stressed that Russian organisers would analyse certain canons, criteria and trends.
