KEMEROVO, July 26 (Itar-Tass) — The evacuation of workers from the Komsomolets mine in the town of Leninsk-Kuznetsk, Kemerovo Region, where a fire broke out on Thursday morning has been completed. There have been no casualties.

At the time of the emergency there were 263 miners working in the shaft.

The regional department of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) told Itar-Tass that at present 24 mine rescuers and 24 mine workers ensuring operation of the facility are in the mine. “The fire engulfed an area of 15 square metres, it occurred in the Tolmachevsky coal bed,” according to EMERCOM.

The report about the fire at the mine came on duty at 05:20 GMT. At the scene, went three branches of the paramilitary Rescue - 17 person task force of the local garrison of fire protection.

The duty officer received a report about the fire outbreak in the mine at 05:20, Moscow time. Three teams of a militarised mine rescue unit, comprising 17 people and a response group of the local fire fighting garrison were dispatched to the scene.
