GELENDZHIK, July 25 (Itar-Tass) — The resort infrastructure of Russia’s Black Sea resort city of Gelendzhik, also hit by a recent flooding, has been restored, the head of Russia’s Rospotrebnadzor consumer rights watchdog, Gennady Onishchenko, said on Wednesday.

“All 64 beaches are open, and there are no restrictions for adults and children as to sea bathing,” the chief sanitary doctor said. He also urged people who are still hesitating where to go for holidays, to opt for Gelendzhik.

“The capacity of Gelendzhik and all resort structures makes it possible to accommodate a lot more holidayers,” Onishchenko said. “Life gets back to normal in all regions hit by the flooding in the south of the Krasnodar region,” he stressed.

According to him, water supply and sewer systems have been restored in full in Krymsk, the hardest hit by the flooding. Onishchenko said that people left without shelter and currently living in kindergarten and school buildings, will soon be resettled, as these buildings must be fully ready for children by September 1, when a new school year begins.
