RF FM recommends Russian citizens to refrain from visits to Syria

The largest Russian air company will traffic passengers from Syria until August 6

MOSCOW, July 24 (Itar-Tass) —— The Russian Foreign Ministry strongly recommends Russian citizens to refrain from visits to Syria.

“Over an extremely tense situation persisting in Syria, ongoing clashes in various regions of the country between governmental troops and the armed opposition the Russian Foreign Ministry recommends insistently again to Russian citizens to refrain from visits to Syria,” a diplomatic source in the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

“In this context we also pay attention to the decision by the leadership of the Aeroflot – Russian Airlines Company to suspend flights from Moscow to Damascus and back starting from August 6,” the diplomatic source said.

“The flights will be suspended starting from August 6 over a lower passenger traffic that fell down over the hostilities in that country,” a Aeroflot source told Itar-Tass on Monday.
