SOCHI, July 23 (Itar-Tass) — Russian President Vladimir Putin said he is hopeful that Italy will contribute to Russia to solving problems with the European Union.
“I hope that being our reliable and traditional partner Italy will make contribution to settling unsolved issues in relations with the European Union,” Putin told a press conference after the talks with Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti on Monday.
According to the president, this is related to visa-free formalities between Russia and the EU and the Russia-EU basic agreement.
