KASIMOV (Ryazan region), July 23 (Itar-Tass) —— The United Russia Party has won at the elections of deputies to the local legislature in the town of Kasimov in the Ryazan Region on Sunday. “The election results, which are coming from all polling stations by Monday morning, point to this fact,” secretary of the Kasimov election committee Svetlana Kiseleva told Itar-Tass on Monday.

Some 49.6% of voters cast their votes for United Russia. The Communist Party came second (28.98%), the LDPR (11.42%) and Yabloko (5.59%) are coming next. The turnout has made 35.76%.

The chairperson of the town election committee noted that the committee “did not try the pleas received during the voting, because the time was spent for the vote count.” “The elections in the Kasimov legislature were highly publicized, many pleas were filed that will be tried compulsorily according to the scheduled procedure,” she said.

The early elections in the Kasimov Duma were held over the fact that the deputies of the previous legislature decided to terminate their powers on May 22, 2012.

Candidates from the A Just Russia Party did not run in the elections, as they were denied registration over violations during the application of the documents.

Twenty deputies were elected in the Kasimov Duma, half of them will represent one-mandate constituencies.
