State National Security Committee general killed in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, July 22 (Itar-Tass) — General of the Tajik State National Security Committee Abdullo Nazarov has been killed in Tajikistan, Mansurdzhon Umarov, the deputy head of the Tajik security service, confirmed to Itar-Tass on Saturday.

According to him, the incident occurred in a suburb of the town of Khoroga of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Province when the general was returning from the Ishkhashim administrative center in his official car on Saturday evening. A group of unknown people blocked his way. They pulled the general out of the car, delivered several blows that were incompatible with life and escaped.

Umarov said that an investigation team had been set up and that an Intercept plan had been announced. Other details are not reported.

General Abdullo Nazarov was the chief of Tajik State National Security Committee department for the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Province.
