MOSCOW, July 21 (Itar-Tass) — Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov said all possible risks were estimated at the construction of Olympic facilities in Sochi.
“All what is related to risks in Sochi, including any dangers, natural and technogenic threats, there is no point on the planet where risks do not exist,” Puchkov said. “The purpose of scientists or people, who take decisions, is to estimate risks and take all measures to minimize them,” the minister said.
“As for Sochi and the North Caucasian region, all risks are estimated. The measures, which are taken to prepare the Olympic Games, are being carried out under tough control of Russian corresponding structures and international organizations,” he stressed.
The minister added that means and forces were being prepared to do everything possible to be warned of the danger and risks. “We are taking steps towards increasing solidity of energy facilities, transport systems and communication. All risks that we are now facing will be minimized,” Puchkov pointed out.
