Russia’s economic growth in Q2 2012 nears 4%

The minister cited forecasts of the International Monetary Fund (IMF)

NOVO-OGARYOVO, July 20 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia’s economic growth in the second quarter of 2012 was 3.9 percent, and 4.4 percent in the first six months of the year, Russian Minister of Economic Development Andrei Belousov said on Friday.

“It gives grounds to forecast a GDP growth,” he told journalists.

The minister cited forecasts of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) saying the Russia’s annual economic growth may reach four percent. “We are more conservative in our forecasts – from 3.8 to four percent at the end of the year,” he noted.
