MOSCOW, July 20 (Itar-Tass) — Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Alexander Lukashevich on Friday refuted reports alleging that Syrian President Bashar Assad’s wife has fled to Moscow.

When asked whether Moscow would offer shelter to Bashar Assad himself, Lukashevich said it was a “subject not worth any reaction.”

“The more so as yesterday Assad was shown by Syria’s television together with the new defence minister,” he added.
