MOSCOW, July 19 (Itar-Tass) — Twelve Russian tourists were hurt in a traffic accident in Turkey, a spokeswoman for the Russian Tourism Agency said on Thursday.
“According to the Russian consulate general in Antalya, a bus carrying Russian tourists to the Antalya airport got into a road accident at about 06:00 a.m. near the town of Serik,” the spokeswoman said.
Eleven Russians received minor injuries and one woman broke her leg. All of them were offered emergency medical help. The accident was caused by a taxi driver who forced the bus to go off the lane.
The Russian Tourism Agency is in contact with the Russian consulate general. The agency also informs that under the current Turkish law, all people injured in traffic accidents, including foreign citizens, are offered free medical assistance regardless of whether they have insurance policies or not.
According to the spokeswoman, the agency is trying to get in contact with a travel company, which sold tours to these people. It is not yet clear when they will be able to return home.
