MOSCOW, July 17 (Itar-Tass) —— Kofi Annan, Joint Special Envoy of the United Nations and the League of Arab States for the Syrian Crisis, has described the current situation in Syria as a “key turning point.”

The Syrian crisis is at a turning point now, he said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.

He said he was sorry to come to Moscow on such a tragic occasion and expressed the hope he would be able to come here when he no longer had such responsibility on his shoulders.
