MOSCOW, July 17 (Itar-Tass) — Russia has offered to convene a meeting of the Action Group for Syria in Moscow at the end of July, Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.
On Monday Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and UN-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan held talks in Moscow.
“Both sides pointed to the unacceptability of the situation in Syria,” Gatilov said. “It is necessary to support the Geneva dynamics and for this purpose we offered to convene a meeting of the Action Group for Syria in Moscow at the end of July not at the ministerial level, but at the level of senior executives.”
