MOSCOW, July 16 (Itar-Tass) — As many as 22 thousand people have been currently vaccinated against infectious hepatitis in Krymsk, including 10,700 people of the flooded area and the others - rescue workers and residents of other areas, the press service of the RF Health Ministry reported.

“All the children have been vaccinated,” the ministry said. “About two thousand people have not been vaccinated, but this figure includes those who have contraindications and those over 60 years of age (these people are not vaccinated because the risk to get infected is minimal).”

More than 26 thousand people have been inoculated, the plan has been 156 percent fulfilled - 40 thousand and 733 doses of bacteriophages have been issued (for repeated inoculation), the ministry noted.

Vaccination of the population is organised in the vaccination centres and through visiting households. As many as 140 medical and nursing teams are currently working in Krymsk. After the completion of the vaccination campaign the household visits will be made again to make sure that everyone has received bacteriophages and got vaccinated.

“Thanks to the vaccination campaign and the actions of doctors the disease incidence since the tragedy has not exceeded the usual level, typical for this region and time of year,” the Health Ministry emphasised.
