Mud flows, rockslides cut off five villages in Dagestan

No victims or injured are reported

MAKHACHKALA, July 15 (Itar-Tass) —— Heavy rains caused mud flows and rockslides in Dagestan’s Ahtyn district. The rampant disaster cut off from the outside world inhabitants of five villages.

Dagestan’s branch of EMERCOM reported on Sunday that “the rockslide blocked the road in the villages Smugul, Hnov, Fiy, and Hryug." According to the authority, there are no bypass near those villages. The named villages include 1,480 households and over 7,000 residents, including 1,959 children. No victims or injured are reported.

Currently, work is underway to clear roads.
