Four Russian vacationers request medical attention in Turkish resort

The administration claimed that the sickness had been provoked by the mixing of dishes or by sunstroke

ANKARA, July 14 (Itar-Tass) —— Four Russian vacationers staying in a hotel near Alanya in the south of Turkey have complained about a gastrointestinal upset, Russian Vice Consul in Antalya told Itar-Tass on Saturday, July 14.

“On July 13-14, several complaints were made by Russian vacationers from the Ozkaymak Select hotel. Four of them were hospitalised and, having received necessary medical attention, are continuing the course of treatment on their own,” Ilchenko said.

According to the diplomat, the administration of the hotel said the sick tourists had been diagnosed to have “gastroenteritis” and that there might be several reasons for that.

The administration claimed that the sickness had been provoked by the mixing of dishes or by sunstroke. But the exact cause is not known yet.

“The Consulate General and the insurance company are watching the situation and keep in touch with the hotel,” Ilchenko said.
