MOSCOW, July 14 (Itar-Tass) —— The resolution on the situation in Georgia the Parliamentary Assembly of the Ogranization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) passed at its 21st annual session in Monaco is absolutely unacceptable and does not reflect the real situation in the Caucasian region, the Russian foreign ministry said on Saturday.

“At its recent annual session in Monaco, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly adopted the resolution On the Situation in Georgia, which reproduces a trite clich· about Georgia’s “occupied territories,” the ministry said. “The Russian delegation condemned this tendentious document as absolutely unacceptable.”

The Russian foreign ministry expressed regret over the fact that the majority of the Assembly’s delegates “go on to refuse to take the realities of the current situation in the Caucasus in an objective manner.”

“Regrettably, such an approach deprives this OSCE structure of a possibility to make a constructive contribution to promoting peace and stability in the region,” the Russian foreign ministry stressed.

In its Monaco resolution, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly stressed its concern about “the humanitarian situation of the displaced persons both in Georgia and in the occupied territories of Abkhazia, Georgia,and South Ossetia, Georgia,” and urged Russia and “defacto authorities of Abkhazia, Georgia, and South Ossetia, Georgia, to allow the European Union Monitoring Mission unimpeded access to the occupied territories of Abkhazia, Georgia and South Ossetia, Georgia as was previously agreed in the ceasefire.”
