KIEV, July 13 (Itar-Tass) —— The driver of a bus with Russian pilgrims that got into a road accident killing 14 near Ukraine’s city of Chernigov has been charged with violating traffic rules, the press office of the Ukrainian interior ministry said on Friday.
It is said the man lost control of the vehicles because he was tired.
On Saturday, July 7, a bus with 41 Russian pilgrims heading from the town of Velikiye Luki in Russia’s Pskov region to Pochayev monastery in Ukraine got into a road accident near the settlement of Krasnoye in the Chernigov-Kiev highway. As many as 14 people died and 29 were injured in the accident. On July 8, twenty five injured people were taken to hospitals in Moscow and Pskov and three remained in Chernigov for health considerations. One of these three died on Friday.
