MOSCOW, July 13 (Itar-Tass) —— In an accident rather unusual for a big city of nowadays, two children got struck by a lightening in a major bedroom community in northwest Moscow Friday.
Both children were rushed to hospital in a heavy condition, a police source told Itar-Tass.
The accident occurred in the woodland zone of the Strogino district, close to the bank of the Moskva River.
“A lightening hit a spot close to where the children aged fourteen and three years old were standing,” the source said. “The three-year-old fell unconscious and the teenager was deafened.”
At the time of reporting, medics were examining the kids to define the problem.
Moscow region police sources said earlier in the day that two guest workers from Uzbekistan had died in the town of Sergiyev Possad when a lightning struck a metal pipe. The calamity claimed the lives of a 54-year-old man and his 18-year-old son, the source said.
