BISHKEK, July 12 (Itar-Tass) —— Two Russian nationals and a citizen of Uzbekistan were killed in a road accident in Kyrgyzstan, a spokesman for the Uzbek interior ministry told Itar-Tass on Thursday.
According to the spokesman, the accident took place at the 81st kilometer of the Bishkek-Chaldovar highway. A Honda Odyssey car rammed a Daimler-Benz passenger minibus. A forty-year-old Russian woman died instantly. One more Russian woman, a 60-year-old resident of the settlement of Khashoman in Russia’s Yanal-Nenets autonomous region, and 76-year-old man from Uzbekistan, died in hospital.
Fourteen more people, including citizens of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Uzbekistan, were hospitalized with injuries.
A criminal case was opened and an investigation is underway.
“According to preliminary information, the accident was caused by a flat tyre in one of the vehicles. As a result, the driver lost control of the vehicle and ran into the ongoing lane,” the spokesman said.
