MOSCOW, July 12 (Itar-Tass) — About 14,000 people are still cut off electricity supplies in the town of Krymsk in Russia’s southern Krasnodar Territory after a devastating flood, a spokesman for the Russian emergencies ministry told Itar-Tass on Thursday.

“As of 09:00 a.m. Moscow time, electricity supplies were resumed to 5,624 users and one substation. A total of 13,900 people, or about 44 percent, are still left without electricity,” the spokesman said.

Gas supplies have been resumed to all socially important facilities. “Gas supplies have not yet been resumed to 3,819 subscribers, or five percent of the entire number,” the spokesman said.

As many as 25 outlets have been organized to distribute drinking water. “A total of 118 many-storey buildings in Krymsk are not supplied with water because of pump failures,” the spokesman added.

Repair works are underway.
