KRYMSK, July 11 (Itar-Tass) —— Water will be pumped out from flooded houses in Krymsk within two days, Russian Minister for Emergency Situations Vladimir Puchkov told journalists.
On Wednesday Puchkov chaired a visiting conference held by representatives of the Federal operational headquarters in Krymsk. "We are planning to complete this work within two days. There are around 200 special machinery units brought to Krymsk from the North Caucasus and other regions of Russia," the minister said.
Water has already been pumped out from more than 3,000 households, Puchkov said. Priority is given to socially important facilities - schools, kindergartens. In a short while the kindergartens will resume work in a usual regime, Puchkov said. He denied a threat of more calamities such as landslides or a sinkhole collapse.
Puchkov played down all the ciculating rumors and declared that all the systems of monitoring and forecasting under the emergencies situation ministry have been working in a strained regime.
"No threat to the population at present, " Puchkov told " Rossiya-24 news" television.
The hot weather and a rather problematic sanitary- epidemiological situation are the main problems in the region at present, Puchkov said. We have reinforced our teams to cope with these tasks, Puchkov added.
Energy sector has been restored in Krymsk stage by stage as soon as water is pumped out and the premises are dried, Puhkov said. We are beginning water and gas supply on a temporary schedule, Puchkov added.
We are planning to resume water and gas supply in full volume by the end of the week, Puchkov declared.
