MOSCOW, July 9 (Itar-Tass) — Russian diplomats should be ready for any variant of the development of the situation in the world, President Vladimir Putin said.
Meeting Russian ambassadors and permanent representatives on Monday, Putin said, “Diplomats’ ability to operatively and urgently react to the events and give a timely assessment is being highlighted. One cannot take a passive attitude towards the development of the events in the world. It is necessary to watch their development as the Foreign Ministry writes in its telegrams.”
“It is necessary to more actively react to the situation where Russia’s interests are met and try to prevent them,” the Russian president said.
He noted that it “is necessary to be ready for any variant of the development of the situation – even the most unfavourable one”.
