MOSCOW, July 7 (Itar-Tass) —— President Vladimir Putin will visit the flood-stricken Krasnodar Territory in southern Russia, his spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Saturday, July 7.

Putin plans to visit some settlements affected by the flood.

“In particular, he plans to fly in a helicopter over most of the localities that suffered the most,” Pskov said.

After that the president will chair a meeting at the crisis management centre with officials from the Emergencies Ministry, local authorities, the Ministry of Regional Development, the Health Ministry and other agencies.

As of 19:00 Moscow time, 103 people were reported dead in the Krasnodar Territory, including 92 in the Krymsk District, nine in Gelendzhik and two in Novorossiisk.

Twenty-six people, including 14 children, have been hospitalised, Health Minister Veronika Skvortsova said earlier.

“Medical help is being provided in full. Specialists of the Emergency Psychiatry and the Russian Forensic Medicine Centre have been sent to the Krasnodar Territory to provide psychological and psychiatric help,” the minister said.

“The Health Ministry is watching the situation and is ready to provide any additional medical assistance if need be,” she said.
