MOSCOW, July 6 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia’s State Duma on Friday voted for a law banning the advertising of any alcoholic beverages in the Internet and in printed periodicals.
The law is to take effect as of the moment of its official publication. The ban on alcohol advertising in the printed media will be in force as of January 1, 2013. The advertising of beverages with a content of alcohol of five percent and more will be allowed up to December 31, 2012. The transitional period will enable printed media with effective contracts to comply with their terms.
